It’s only been 3 days since my last update about my DIY vegetable garden, but there’s so much to share!
When I started my garden on March 19th, I was hopefully but iffy. I wasn’t sure what my results would be as i’m new to gardening. Then came my update on April 9th – and what an exciting update it was! We have green peppers and strawberries that are doing really well!
Today’s update though, is one that completely surprised me! In only 3 days, the green peppers have tripled in size! Wowza! Here are the pics from April 9th:
…and here are pics from today (April 12th) – just 3 days later…
WOW! Check out the difference in size! Isn’t that something?! You really don’t expect to see such a drastic difference in such a short amount of time. At least, I didn’t. It just reignites my desire to grow as many fruits and vegetables as I can handle!
Let’s move on to the strawberries. Here’s a pic of them just 3 days ago:
…and here they are, as of today…
I am seriously giddy. I really thought it would be much harder to grow my own produce, but as it turns out, it’s not! It’s SO easy in fact, that you can grow your own food in pretty much any type of container. I’m using old dresser drawers for my jalapeno peppers.
Speaking of those spicy bits of awesome… take a look. These jalapenos weren’t so much as budding when I posted my previous update. In 3 days, they went from nothing, to something!
Sometime this week, I’m gonna pickup a few other edibles. Tomatoes are definitely on my list. I’m also considering cucumbers and various berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc).
If you’re a novice like me and think it’s too difficult to grow your own food, trust me when I tell you, it’s not! I’m learning as I go and it’s so much fun! I highly recommend rolling up your sleeves and giving it a try!
